Cold Feet, Warm Shoes  is one of the Company’s premier community outreach programs.  Each year, hundreds of needy men, women and children are fitted with a new pair of shoes for the winter. The charity program is centered around a mock shoe store created by Genesco employees. Unlike typical donations, Cold Feet, Warm Shoes recipients are provided with the power of choice and receive the same respect and service they would receive at any of Genesco's 2,000 plus retail stores.

Since its inception in 1989, Cold Feet, Warm Shoes' success in Nashville inspired Genesco to take the program to other cities, including Boston and Indianapolis. In 2000, the Company fit nearly 150 of Boston’s homeless with new shoes and socks in cooperation with the Timberland group.  And in 2005, the Company launched its Cold Feet, Warm Shoes program in partnership with Hat World providing new shoes and hats to more than 200 of Indianapolis' disadvantaged youth.

Genesco's Cold Feet, Warm Shoes product is donated by all operating divisions, including Journeys, Journeys Kidz, Shi by Journeys, Hat World/Lids, Lids Kids, Johnston & Murphy, Dockers Footwear, Jarman and Underground Station, as well as their vendors.
