Comprehensive Health Care Plans
Genesco provides family health care protection for eligible employees and their families. Employees may choose any doctor in the PPO network to receive the highest level of coverage. The plan includes office visit co-pay, prescription coverage and a vision reimbursement benefit.
Dental coverage is offered to eligible employees and their families. Preventive and diagnostic care is paid at 100% when utilizing in network providers.
401(k) STEP Plan
The Company will match $1 for every $1 of an eligible employee’s contribution up to 3%, plus $0.50 for every $1 contributed on the next 2% of salary. Employees are able to direct funds to one or more of a number of investment options.
Life Insurance – Employee and Dependent
Company paid life insurance is offered to all eligible employees based on job classification and annual salary. The Company also offers contributory dependent life insurance for employee’s spouse and dependent children. Accident Insurance and Seat Belt benefits are also provided.
Short-Term and Long-Term Disability coverage is available to eligible employees.
Genesco offers employees the opportunity to purchase merchandise at a 40% discount in our Company-owned retail stores. Additional discount opportunities are available through wholesale channels.
Genesco believes that employees should have time each year for travel, leisure, or any purpose they wish. Full-time employees and regular part-time employees are eligible for vacation benefits based on years of service.
Genesco recognizes that there are special days employees may want to spend with family and friends. Eligible employees celebrate paid holidays based on employment classifications.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Employees may use flexible spending accounts to save money on expenses for child care or elder care through a dependent care account and on expenses for medical, dental, vision and hearing through a health care account with tax-free dollars.
Genesco provides financial assistance for adoption-related expenses up to a maximum of $3,000 per child for eligible employees.
The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee deadline for Genesco Employee Scholarship application is March 15, annually. The application, sealed recommendation letters, sealed transcript and other supporting materials must be received on or before March 15, at 11:59 p.m. (Central). In 2017, an International Employee Scholarship was created to extend the Genesco Employee Scholarship opportunity to non-U.S. based Genesco employees and their children.
Scholarship opportunities are available to Genesco employees and their children through the Genesco Employee Scholarship Fund. Funding is provided by Genesco and administered by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, a third party organization which oversees the application and selection process for the scholarships. Other scholarship opportunities are available through the Two/Ten International Footwear Foundation, an organization that Genesco has membership.

Genesco matches employee contributions to qualifying 501(c)3 non-profit organizations with up to four gift annually, totaling $1,000 per employee.
EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE (CORPORATE OFFICE)
To encourage professional growth and development, Genesco provides educational assistance up to $5,250 to employees for tuition and required books for job related courses. This benefit is available to all full time employees of the Genesco Corporate Offices as well as Regional/District managers.
